The Important Things in Life

Once again, it's been a few weeks since we updated the blog, but unfortunately, this time it has been with good reason. Evie's grandpa was stricken with an extremely serious medical condition, and we had to rush back across the country while he was having life-saving surgery. Thank God, Grandpa came through the surgery okay, but he will have a very long recovery.

On the trip, Evie was great. She got to meet a bunch of the crowd from her dad's home town - family and friends from way back. She got to meet her great-grandmother and great-granddad, Papa. She met aunts, uncles, cousins, and family friends who are as much a part of the family as anyone. Thanks to all of those who helped watch after Evie while Rhiana and I were at the hospital visiting my dad.

Since getting back home, Rhiana has gone back to work, Evie started going next door for an interim day care, and we're getting into a bit of a pattern. Evie is feeding pretty well, about every three hours during the day. At night, she does a good job of sleeping. Typically we'll feed her at 9 or 10 pm, then again around 2 am. Rhiana then feeds her before work around 5, and I feed her again at 7 before taking her next door.

It turns out Evie didn't fall too far from the paternal tree - she's a gassy girl. At one point last week, she snorted, farted, burped and pooped all within about 2 mintues of each other. Once we stopped laughing, I called my dad and told him I proud I was. He said in his typical way, "That's MY girl!!"

We are going to try to take pictures weekly and put them on Evie's Yahoo Photos website. For now, here are some St. Patrick's Day pictures, and a few from this weekend.
