Wind Storm & Christmas Pictures
For those of you who knew about the big storm that came through here last week, we came through it just fine. We lost power Thursday night with the 70-mph winds, and didn't get our power back until yesterday morning, but we're better off than a lot of people, who still don't have power. Still, with nighttime temperatures dipping into the 20's, it was a rough few days. Fortunately, we have a gas fireplace, which stayed on for about 60 straight hours (that will be a fun bill), and a gas water heater and gas stove. So we had some heat and hot water, and I boiled lots of water on the stove to add some humidity and warmth to the air in the house. The first floor stayed warm enough, though the upstairs got really cold. So Rhiana and I got out the featherbed and eggshell mattresses and set up a bed next to the fireplace, and Evie slept in her Pack & Play in the living room. Like I say, we were lucky to have some resources. There are a lot of people around here who weren't/aren't so lucky.
Anyway, Evie got all dressed up a couple of weekends ago, and got her first set of Christmas pictures taken. I personally think they're the cutest Christmas pictures ever, but I am biased (as I should be). Here are a few low-resolution copies. If you want to see better versions or order some, send me an e-mail.
