Evie's First Christmas
For Evelynn's first Christmas, we travelled to see her grandparents, Daddy's parents, and uncle Josh, along with the rest of the family and Daddy's old friends. Evie had been getting pretty demanding, occasionally very difficult, so we were a little nervous about the four hour plane ride, layover, and then a two hour plane ride after that. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. After about 20 minutes of playing, Little Evie slept the rest of the way on the first flight. Unfortunately, we missed our connection, but it turned out about right - after playing for about 3 hours in the airport, she slept on the second flight all the way to Grandma's house.
It was a wonderful week, seeing the whole family and old friends, getting some relaxation, and even going on a couple of dates while Grandma and "Pops", as my Dad has decided he wants to be called, babysat. Obviously, the week's first highlight was Christmas day. It's hard to remember all of the highlights, but here are some pictures. We only have a few, but we're waiting for some more from Mom. I'll update this entry when we get them.
Evie was a very good little unwrapper. All she needed was a little help to get started, and she would grab the loose piece and pull it right off. Unfortunately, she wouldn't keep her Santa hat on to match Daddy's.
For Grandma for Christmas, we had a blanket - er, afghan - made for her with a big picture of Evie. It was pretty special, it turned out great. This is her face when she saw it. I think she liked it too.
